JetStream
Description
JetStream is an un-bonded, non-combustible glass mineral wool
blowing insulation which requires no mixing on site and is designed
to deliver excellent coverage rates and blowing performance.
Application
JetStream glass mineral wool blowing insulation is typically
installed in open lofts of both new build and refurbished pitched
roofs and is installed at the horizontal ceiling level.
Thermal resistance
JetStream glass mineral wool blowing insulation delivers a range
of thermal resistance values, dependent on the installed thickness.
Achieving the desired thermal resistance value (R-value) is
provided by installing JetStream in accordance with the
manufacturer‘s instructions, the required number of bags per net
area, at no less than the minimum thickness specified. Failure to
install both the required number of bags at the minimum specified
thickness will result in lower thermal resistance values being
achieved.
Durability
JetStream is odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, does not
sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or
bacteria.
Thermal Conductivity
JetStream has a thermal conductivity of 0.042W/mK when installed
at a density of 15.00kg/m3.
Fire
JetStream is classified as Euroclass A1 to EN ISO 13501-1
- Suitable for new-build or retrofit
- Dry process
- Quick and clean to install
- Installed by approved contractors
- Low cost
- Quick and easy to install
Standards
JetStream glass mineral wool blowing insulation is made from
non-combustible inorganic glass mineral wool, defined as mineral
wool in EN ISO 9229 and is manufactured to a Quality Assurance
system which complies with EN ISO 9001:2000 and is also EUCEB
compliant. EUCEB - (European Certification Board for Mineral Wool
Products) EUCEB verifies the conformity of mineral wool products to
the European Directive’s carcinogenic exoneration criteria.
Manufacturers are allowed to place the EUCEB trademark on their
products if the results of tests prove that their products comply
with the biopersistence criteria defined in Nota Q of the European
Directive 97/69/EC. By displaying the EUCEB trademark customers can
readily see that a product meets the exoneration
classification.
Environmental
JetStream conserves energy and therefore assists in reducing
demand for fuels for the heating and air-conditioning of buildings.
As a result, they reduce the emissions of the major greenhouse gas,
CO2. The energy and CO2 emissions saved by
the products in use vastly outweigh those generated in their
manufacture. JetStream’s manufacture has a low impact on the
environment and is classified as Zero ODP and Zero GWP.
Vapour resistance - resistivity
JetStream offers negligible resistance to the passage of water
vapour and has a vapour resistivity of 7.00 MN.s.g.m.
Handling and storage
JetStream glass mineral wool blowing insulation is supplied in
polythene packs which are designed for short term protection only.
For longer term protection on site, the product should either be
stored indoors, or under cover and off the ground. JetStream should
not be left permanently exposed to the elements.
